Et je lui ai répondu :I'm definitely open to transcribing the book. I could probably add a French version directly to Amazon once it's finished. Happy to talk about compensating you are full never helps with a transcription!
Good morning Scott! Thanks for your feedback
I know that I won't able to translate your book alone so I'll need to discuss this with the French homebrewers community on www.brassageamateur.com.
What I know from the How To Brew experience :
- the translation (as a result) is available on a specific section of the forum where special credentials are necessary to enter it. When you connect you acknowledge that you'll not download and divulgate any copy of this French version.
- I understand that it unfortunately means that potentially a lot of users will only connect and view online while they would have directly bought your book otherwise.
- the only thing that John Palmer did not accept is to publish this French version as a paper version (don't ask me why, I don't know
- if I find enough translaters to proceed, I won't ask you for some compensation apart for the French community, that is to say the possibility to access online this French version with the same terms of acknowledgement
If this sounds reasonable for you, I could provide you with the existing terms of acknowledgement for How To Brew, so that you can ensure that it matches your vision.
Then eventually I'll start discussing with the other French members to check who would be interesting, I'll cross the fingers that I could easily find some! Ideally I'll also have to find "old" members who did the work for How To Brew
Brassicalement vôtre,
Jérôme
